A little care keeps the heat coming

Simple habits for your heat pump and filter

A heat pump pulls warmth out of the air and puts it into your pool. It does that best when air moves freely through the unit and water moves freely through the heater, so most of the care comes down to keeping both clear.

For the heat pump:

✓Keep plants, mulch and stored items away from the sides and top
✓Clear leaves off the top grill and out of the coil fins
✓Rinse the coil gently with a garden hose, never a pressure washer

For the filter:

✓Empty the skimmer and pump baskets often
✓Clean the filter when the pressure gauge climbs above its clean reading
✓Run the pump long enough each day for the heater to do its job

A heater shuts itself off when water flow drops, so a clogged filter often shows up as a cold pool. If yours shows a flow error, check the filter first. If it still won't run, give us a call.
